Dear Parents and Carers

Boris Johnson announced last night that there is a possibility of a phased return to school for Reception, Y1 and Y6 from June 1st. Everyone working in education heard this news at the same time as parents. I’m sure that you will have many questions – as do we –  but we do not have any more information than you do at this present time.

Therefore, we ask for your patience until we have more insight into the government’s recovery plan, which will hopefully come in today’s briefing. As soon as the government provides clarity regarding their plan, we will inform you of what this means for Plympton St Maurice Primary.

In the short-term, nothing has changed. School remains open for the children of ESSENTIAL key workers and vulnerable children only. We are not in a position to provide a place in school for the children of any other workers other than those on the official list. Staying at home remains the safest place for your child until we are told otherwise.

Take care everyone and stay safe
